In addition to our core treatment programs, we emphasize health and employment life skills to prepare clients for success beyond recovery. Our patients engage in fun outings, including hiking, swimming, sports, and more. On-site, we host group meetings and alumni meetings with a unique twist—alumni often join current clients, fostering mentorship and connection.

- Treatment for Co-occurring Mental & Emotional health
Individual addiction therapy
For a few hours each week, men meet privately with one of our licensed professionals in a one-on-one setting to explore their addiction, strategize and heal. It is then that each man’s most personal struggles with addictions and underlying mental health are discussed and addressed. These sessions are also a great time to build positive coping skills, and to set goals and chart the path forward.
Small group therapy
When it comes to addiction recovery, one of the most important things for an individual to feel is that they’re not alone or odd. In addition to private therapy, small group therapy takes place in a judgment-free setting where men can speak openly about their struggles, learn from shared experiences, and hold each other up to reinforce a strong commitment to recovery and build a lifelong support network.
Dual diagnosis mental health treatment
A dual diagnosis is common when drug and alcohol addiction is accompanied by a mental health disorder, such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Because these co-occurring conditions feed into one another, we believe it’s important to treat them at the same time in order for our men to truly break the cycle and begin to heal and move forward with their lives in recovery.
Individual Case management
At WellBrook Recovery, our case management services ensure that every aspect of your long-term recovery journey is carefully coordinated. By providing ongoing, responsive support and guidance throughout your stay, your case manager synchronizes all aspects of your care and your goals helping you navigate any challenges along the way.

Questions you may have
What levels of care does Wellbrook of Chardon, Ohio provide?
Wellbrook Recovery Ohio offers residential inpatient treatment, the most intensive form of care, along with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), which blend residential care with outpatient elements. We also facilitate medical detox and medicated withdrawal for those needing that. Both programs provide a comprehensive recovery environment, removing clients from triggers and helping them heal in a safe, supportive space.
How long do I need to stay at a residential inpatient rehab center?
The average stay at a residential facility is between 30 and 60 days, depending on the severity of the addiction and individual needs. Most clients at Wellbrook stay for around 45 days, though this can vary based on progress and medical recommendations.
Do I need to go to detox first?
Many individuals require intensive medical detox for a few days before beginning longer term inpatient rehabilitation, especially those with severe substance use. Others may only require continued abstinence and supervision. Our team helps determine whether medical detox is necessary, and if so, we coordinate with the appropriate medical detox center nearby to ensure a smooth transition into our program.
Can I go home during my stay?
Residential treatment generally requires a full-time commitment, meaning clients remain at the facility throughout the program. While family visits are allowed, home visits are often allowed but typically limited and only authorized after some time in treatment if deemed appropriate by the clinical team.
Are visitors allowed?
Family and friends approved for visitation can visit once a week on designated days.
Do clients ever leave the treatment center grounds?
Yes, we offer supervised outings as part of our program, including trips to local recreation spots, such as the beach, hiking trails, gyms, fitness centers, salt caves, bowling and many others, to encourage healthy, substance-free activities.
How many clients are treated at the ohio rehab center at once?
We admit no more than 10 men at a time, allowing for highly individualized care and a warm, supportive environment.
Do most men graduating from your program succeed in staying sober?
While addiction is so complex and variate and there can be no guarantees, Wellbrook has one of the highest success rates in Ohio, with the overwhelming majority of our active alumni maintaining long-term sobriety due to our unique, comprehensive approach and our robust alumni program.
Which insurances do you accept, and is self-pay an option?
We accept most private or employer based insurances, including UMR, Anthem, United Healthcare, Medical Mutual and Cigna to name a few. Self-pay options are available, with flexible payment plans to fit individual financial needs.
What should I tell family and friends about going to rehab?
While most people are supportive, you can choose how much to share. If necessary, you might frame it as a “Non life threatening medical leave”, a “wellness retreat” or a “life coaching program,” but your focus should be on your family and your long-term benefits of recovery, including ensuring that the addiction doesn’t continue and end up spilling out in an even more embarrassing way.
What is the smoking policy?
We allow smoking in designated areas, but all tobacco products and e-cigarettes must be new and unopened upon arrival. We also do cigarette runs for clients that would like more during their stay. Clients often find themselves working through and moving beyond the smoking addiction alongside the substances addiction.
What is the food like?
We provide a nutritious and diverse home-like meals, offering flexibility in menus to accommodate client preferences. Our clients have access to our full kitchen and take part in planning and preparing meals and snacks as they choose.
Do you help out-of-state clients?
Yes, we assist clients from outside Ohio with travel arrangements and guide them through the process of joining our program, as we have done on many occasions.
