A Continuum of Addiction Treatment
There is no single starting point for addiction treatment. Some people need medical detox before beginning therapy, while others may be ready for residential or outpatient care. The appropriate level of treatment depends on factors such as substance use, withdrawal risk, mental and emotional health, previous treatment, living environment, and the amount of structure needed for a stable recovery.
Medical Detox
Medical detox provides supervised withdrawal management with nursing and clinical support. When detox is needed, the goal is to help clients stabilize safely and prepare for the next stage of treatment.
Residential Treatment
Residential treatment provides a structured, on-site environment with intensive individual and group therapy, clinical support, recovery skill development, and time away from everyday triggers and distractions.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP provides a high level of structured daytime treatment for people who continue to need significant clinical support without remaining in residential care around the clock.
